I am a final year undergraduate at IITB. I felt the need for counselling when I was in my 3rd?year. I had one of the most demanding PORs a 3rdie could have, along with a loaded semester, also there were a few personal experiences which had taken a toll on me. So I decided to take a counselling session. I had initially met Ms Amita Tagare during my freshie year, so was convinced that it could be helpful and that I could use some professional advice, which I did need.
I took and appointment with Ms Anjali Bhatia. I realized I had time management issues, and I took a little too much stress, which was having a compounding effect on other spheres of my life. It took some time to get on track but with some persistent effort and regular follow-up sessions, I made progress.
I wasn’t 100% efficient, but I realized that being 70% efficient is a lot better than ZERO.
I got placed this placement season and also improved my CPI with planned efforts.
I would like to conclude that counselling should not be seen as a taboo, and simply as “advice from professionals” which one can surely make good use of.
