<p>E-N-T-R-E-P-R-E-N-E-U-R-S-H-I-P : A quick google search will give numerous definitions of this term written by experts all across the world but what is so special about this concept that has changed the fortunes of all those who dive into entrepreneurship, leaving behind all comforts and chasing something engulfed so much with uncertainty? To find the solution to this and to explore the sea of opportunities that entrepreneurship offers, E-Cell organises its Entrepreneurship Summit in the beautiful campus of IIT Bombay every year.</p><p>Here, an enthusiast can find reasons to become an entrepreneur, a startup can reorient its goals for better results and students can interact with professionals to discuss their career goals. For everything entrepreneurial, E-Summit is the place to be.</p><p>The 14th edition witnessed the participation of wide range of speakers, investors, mentors, startups, venture capitals and students from all across India, that came together for the passion of entrepreneurship. “Fall in love with problems”, Summit started with these words from Dr. Gururaj Deshpande, Co-founder of Deshpande Foundation. The Indian American venture capitalist and entrepreneur spoke at length about why India needs more entrepreneurs and thus companies for development of this country.</p><p>Prominent names like Madhukar Parekh (Chairman of Pidilite Industries), Niranjan Hiranandani (MD Hiranandani Group), Suresh Prabhu (Minister of Commerce, Industry and Civil Aviation, Government of India), Gautam Singhania (Chairman and Managing Director of the Raymond Group), Guenter Butschek (Global CEO of TATA motors), Rajen Vagadia (Vice President and President of Qualcomm India and SAARC), Kris Gopalakrishnan (Chairman of Axilor Ventures) graced E-Summit’ 19.</p><p>The major event was ‘The Ten Minute Million’, a one-of-a-kind show in India where 8 startups got 10 minutes to pitch their idea infront of 15 investors to raise INR 1.6 Million. 3 out of 8 startups got on-spot funding. CrossForge Solutions raised INR 147 lakhs, rePurpose Solution raised INR 101 lakhs and Giscle System raised INR 63 lakhs. Eco, a startup working on friendly water retention polymer, bagged INR 5 lakhs in Eureka! - Asia’s largest business model competition. Augle AI, a startup from IIT Bombay, won IITB track.</p><p>E-Cell, IIT Bombay works for visionaries who share a crazy desire to revolt against the usual stereotyped life and create a niche for themselves. If their ideas are supported and they are encouraged, these visionaries can entirely change the future course of India’s growth chart.</p>
