The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay celebrated its 63rd Foundation Day on March 10, 2022 by honouring the distinguished contributions of its faculty members as well as alumni who have contributed eminently and made their mark in their chosen fields of profession.

Besides the distribution of the Institute awards, the audience also witnessed the handing over of Hostel 5 (on video) - renovated under the joint initiative called ‘enhancement of oldest hotels’ between the Institute and IIT Bombay Alumni Association (which has been possible by a robust fund-raising exercise by the H5 alumni of the Institute across batches), and release of a teaser of ‘IIT Bombay Gen Zero Women’ - initiated in 2021 to profile the professional and personal journeys of 30 IIT Bombay alumna (women alumni). In addition, a video of the ‘Stay Connected’ initiative by the Alumni and Corporate Relations office was showcased during the Foundation Day celebrations. This initiative has been implemented to encourage alumni to update their contact details on a dedicated portal created by the ACR IT team so that they can receive updates about the Institute’s latest developments. The function was held in physical presence of the awardees, their family members, Institute functionaries and invited dignitaries and was transmitted live on social media channels for others.
