IIT Bombay Inaugurates ‘Brijraj Chandra Mansingh Chemical Instrumentation Laboratory’

<p>IIT Bombay established the ‘Brijraj Chandra Mansingh Chemical Instrumentation Laboratory’ on November 7, 2022,&nbsp; through a generous contribution from IIT Bombay’s alumnus, Mr. Sanjay Mansingh (BTech, Electrical Engineering, 1992). The lab is a state-of-the-art facility housed in the Department of Chemistry on campus.</p><p>Set up in memory of Mr. Sanjay’s father, Shri Brijraj Chandra Mansingh, the lab will provide the latest and advanced equipment to students pursuing cutting-edge innovative research projects under the guidance of the Chemistry Department’s faculty. This modern facility will be accessible to all students and researchers of the Institute through an online booking portal and will also cater to more than 1,000 BTech, 200 BS/ MSc, and 350 PhD students. In addition, this lab will aid the Chemistry Department’s efforts to upgrade its research infrastructure.</p><p>The lab will play an instrumental role in the mission of the Department of Chemistry, to ensure high-quality training of students in the best practices of this discipline and help push the frontiers of our understanding of Chemical Sciences. IIT Bombay is grateful to Mr. Sanjay Mansingh for his generosity towards establishing the lab.</p>
