<p>IIT Bombay has secured third position in ‘Overall’ and ‘Engineering’, and tenth in the Management category. It stood 3<sup>rd</sup> in the new ‘Research’ category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). The result of 6<sup>th</sup> edition of NIRF rankings 2021 was announced by the Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of India Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, today.</p><p>The Institute obtained a score of 82.52, 85.16, 68.08 and 80.93 in the Overall, Engineering, Management and Research category respectively of the NIRF 2021. The parameters used for NIRF rankings include Teaching, Learning & Resources, Research and Professional Practice, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity, and Perception. </p><p>The Director of the Institute, Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri in his remark said “IIT Bombay always strives to provide the best all round career training for all our students and to focus on research and entrepreneurial activities that have greater impacts to our society. Our efforts shall continue and a recognition like this by NIRF will further consolidate our resolve to work harder on these aspects."</p><p>Last year, the institute was ranked 4th, 3rd and 11th in Overall, Engineering and Management category respectively of NIRF.</p><p><span lang="en-US">The NIRF rankings was initiated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in 2015.</span></p>
