Inauguration of Micro- Solar Grid in J&K village

Mr. Ganesh Hegde, senior PhD student at CTARA, IIT Bombay had spent one month with Aseem Foundation in the villages of J&K as part of the summer fieldwork. With the help from the Indian Army and GS Lab Pune, they successfully commissioned the first Solar Micro-Grid in a remote village Ghaggarhill, located 6000 ft above sea level.

The grid has now been recently handed over to the residents of the village that has suffered severely from cross-fire at LoC over the years. The current project compliments the existing energy sources and provides a reliable electricity supply. Electrifying this cluster of households as a pilot project was incredibly fulfilling for Aseem Foundation, GS Lab, CTARA and the Indian Army.
