Course content

Modelling in mechanical translation, rotary and simple hydraulic and pneumatic systems, one tank and two tank process, Block diagrams, transfer functions and steady state behaviour of systems. Dynamic behaviour, transient response and analysis, stability criterion. Types of controllers on-off, P, PI, PID controllers. Analog computers and their use in simulation and analysis of control systems. Characteristics of measurements, temperature measurement, flow measurement, pressure measurement and level measurement. Measurement of force and torque. Measurement of acceleration. P & ID of typical process case examples in instrumentation from metallurgical processes.?
